Ardmore Enterprises' Mission

Ardmore Enterprises Inc. is a private, non-profit organization providing support to empower individuals with intellectual disabilities.  The organization operates from a core value system that believes that each individual should determine the direction of his or her life. Ardmore is committed to providing support with a safe environment, promoting choice, responsibility, maximum self-sufficiency and full community involvement.

Ardmore Enterprises was founded in 1963 to provide services to persons with mental retardation. As a result of PH 94-142- “Free Education for all Handicapped Children Act,” services for children were phased out by 1980 and presently Ardmore only supports adults with developmental disabilities.  In 1981, Ardmore expanded its operations to include a residential program.  Our Employment Services program currently serves 200 people 45 of whom are in Supported Employment.  We support approximately 50 people in Residential Services, in both Assisted Living Units (ALU’s) and Group Homes, and seven (7) people are supported in Family and Individual Support Services.  Ardmore owns and maintains all 12 ALU’s and Group Homes in addition to the two buildings located on 5 acres on Lottsford Vista Road.

In each of its programs, through comprehensive clinical and community resources, Ardmore has successfully supported many individuals. We serve those needing periodic supports at a work site to those with challenging behaviors resulting from autism, traumatic brain injury, dementia, and other diagnoses. The goal of each of our services is to empower individuals in their efforts for full community integration and self determination.  Accomplishing these goals will lead to increased community participation and involvement for the persons served, enriching both their lives and the community as a whole.
