Ardmore Covid-19 Update

October 29, 2020

When Ardmore closed its Day Programs and Administrative offices in March, it was expected that we would be ‘back to normal’ by October. While we may not be fully operational, we are very proud of the work our staff has done to support and engage people under extremely difficult circumstances. Over the last seven months:

  • our Community Living and Personal Supports programs have remained open,

  • we have launched a robust Tele- and Virtual Support program designed to meaningfully engage people during the day while unable to gather in person,

  • our Employment Supports continue to meet virtually and provide in-person job supports, and

  • we have begun providing one-on-one supports to some people in the community.

While much remains unknown, our top priority is always the health and safety of those we support, their families and our staff. This is the focus point of every decision we make. Our Leadership Team, which meets weekly to address COVID-related issues, would like to share the following:

Administrative Offices:

Ardmore’s administrative office is currently open by appointment only. While a majority of our administrative staff continue to telework; our reception desk is staffed Monday - Friday. Onsite trainings have resumed with a reduced capacity limit. In an effort to reduce exposure risk, a wellness screening is required for who enter our building; masks and social distancing are also required. We continue to follow CDC, state and local guidance as it relates to in-person work environments. To reach someone at our administrative office, please call 301-306-2575.

Day Program:

Ardmore’s onsite Day Habilitation Program remains closed. At this time, we do not have an anticipated reopening date. Our staff will continue to reach out to those previously receiving services in that program to discuss Virtual, Tele-Support and in person Community-Based options for continued to support.

Open Communication/Flexible Solutions:

Ardmore is committed to exploring flexible solutions, whenever possible, to ensure everyone is able to fully participate in their role within the Ardmore Family. People supported and family members are encouraged to reach out to their Ardmore contacts to communicate, address concerns and problem solve around their specific COVID-related needs—just as our staff are encouraged to work their supervisor regarding their specific needs. We understand that each staff member, family member and person supported has to personally evaluate their level of risk tolerance, just as we have had to evaluate risk on behalf of the agency.

We recognize that the last seven months have ushered in unprecedented change both on an organizational level and on personal level. Be assured that Ardmore remains committed not only to the health and safety of our staff and those we support, but also to transparency in our decision-making process. Thank you for being a valued member of the Ardmore Family and thank you for continuing IN COMMUNITY TOGETHER with us.
