Employment First: Kevin's New Job

Ardmore is committed to Employment First—a concept to facilitate the full inclusion of people with the most significant disabilities in the workplace and community. Learn more about Employment First.

For Kevin Jamison, helping people is his super power. For over 9 years, he was Ardmore's front desk 'ambassador'--the receptionist who went above and beyond to make every person feel welcomed and respected. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, he was furloughed.

Over the last 18 months, Ardmore’s Employment Team has provided customized discovery and job development services to Kevin and others to stay connected, continue to build skills and explore new employment opportunities. As in-person services resumed last fall, Kevin met regularly with Ardmore Job Coach Irma Lawton and Ardmore job development staff to polish his skills, practice interviewing and apply for jobs

In January, Kevin was hired by Prince George's County Public Schools as a 1:1 Dedicated Aid. A perfect match for a man who is dedicated to helping others and is eager to learn, grow and be an example to those around him.

Congratulations Kevin!

Kevin currently serves a member of Ardmore's Board of Directors and has received support services from Ardmore since 2010.
